I took a quick trip to Bali w/ Charlie + his lovely family just before Christmas to Canggu, which is about forty-five minutes from Seminyak. It is a widely known fact (especially if you follow me on instagram) that I become a walking, talking acai bowl when the weather gets warmer. Bali was mildly warm, with a side serve of monsoon…not in the holiday plans – although that didn’t stop me from trying some delicious smoothie bowls.
Bring in, The Loft – the sister cafè of Vida Surf Store in Bondi, so it felt just like home in Sydney. Painted in white + pink decor with beautiful typography and a delicious menu, The Loft has had its fair share of Instagrammers taking photos against its pink wall with the slogan “you’ll see it when you believe it”, so naturally – I had to take one too!
Regarding the menu, there was something to suit everyone. Although they had run out of acai (*tear*), I settled with a pitaya bowl, which is a dragonfruit smoothie bowl! Something different which pleasantly surprised me. I loved the presentation and the care that The Loft took into their food – look at that ‘rose’ shaped mango and how it is served in a coconut bowl. Charlie got the House Made Waffles (with vanilla coconut yogurt…yes please!). I was surprised to find dairy-free alternatives in Bali – I had braced myself for giving up coffee for the week, but alas, this place makes their own house almond milk. Bliss!
I would 100% go back in a heartbeat! If you have any suggestions (or are traveling to Bali yourself) – let me know!
