Hello, lovely people of the internet! Back at you with another foodie blog post (I swear, I am not becoming a food blogger!) – I have a life update coming very soon, but for now – I will enlighten you with my partner’s second home, Everday Canteen. Now that I am back in Sydney (for those who aren’t up to speed – I moved to Melbourne for University) – one of the perks of long-distance is going and trying all your significant other’s favorite discoveries, and this has been one of them!
Everyday Canteen is tucked away on Elizabeth Street just near Artarmon Train Station. Built upon an old pharmacy – this Scandinavian inspired cafe prides itself on the wholesome food they create (the breakfast bowl, poached eggs, and the cakes are the winners here!) The white-washed walls and greenery are different for such a suburban area so it was a happy change from the grunge scene that I experience in Melbourne cafes. Aside from the beautiful aesthetics (I could totally live in here!) – the coffee and the food is excellent. I had a bacon + egg roll with a side of halloumi and C had the Canteen Bowl; poached egg, kale, mushroom, quinoa, avocado, roasted pumpkin, tomatoes, pepitas, pine nuts and chorizo (it’s quite the meal!) which was delicious as well.
We were also happily treated to French Toast by Angela and the lovely staff! Thank you – it was a super sweet ending to such a lovely experience. Check out the photos here:
