I wouldn’t call myself a massive art fanatic, but I do love art, particularly contemporary. There is something so interesting about the modern world and the way people today interpret things – hence, why I love to go to the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Sydney. Not only is Sydney my hometown, but somewhere I want to explore before I move interstate.
Tatsuo Miyajima’s exhibition, currently at MCA until the 5th of March next year, explores the concept of time – something I wish I had more of. The Japanese sculptor and designer explores the ideologies of ‘connecting with everything’ through his technologically driven sculptures and installations. He uses the numerics from one until nine as a running theme in all his works – as you will see below, symbolizing death and rebirth (also paying homage to his philosophical thinking). I really enjoyed the exhibition and it had been something that I had been excited for after they had announced that it was arriving on Australian shores last year.
