Last month ago, I had the privilege of attending an event for REIN’s new and upcoming collection.
REIN London was established through the creative talents of Rebecca Morter and Gemma Vanson, graduates of the influential London College of Fashion. Already rooted in the fashion industry with the likes of Alexander Wang and Christopher Raeburn – they started up the brand in 2014, pivoting around the ideas of contemporary women’s culture, particularly empowerment and the female figure, as well as the forever changing fashion avant-garde scene in London and worldwide. Debuted at London Fashion Week last year, the work has been worn by the likes of Lady Gaga, Little Mix, Charlie XCX and has been featured in numerous publications such as ELLE and Vogue, a sign that it is becoming a firm favourite in the celebrity fashion world as well as on the streets.
Hosted in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire (at Lily Gins, the cocktail bar) the showroom-style event was an intimate gathering with a mix of AW 16 and SS 16 bodies of work to try on. I was able to chat with both Rebecca and Gemma (they are so, so lovely!) and it was interesting to hear their ideas for the future of the brand as well as see how truly dedicated and diligent they are to seeing REIN succeed.
