Best Known for: The cute/rustic interior + killer coffee (and vegan treats!)
Facebook: The Steamie
I am back again with another coffee shop post! This time, we are hitting up the famous Scottish town, Glasgow – known for its punk and rock scene, I was excited to try out this well-known cafe. Established in 2014 and located in Argyle Street, I felt as if it was quite central.
After popping inside (and asking if I could take my blog photos, of course) – I introduced myself to the barista who was so lovely!! (He also gave me some other coffee places to check out, which was so considerate of him) I ordered my cappuccino (with almond milk this time) and decided to order one of their vegan treats – I opted for the biscoff + chocolate slice.
Although the coffee was pretty strong for me and it was twenty-six degrees outside – I really enjoyed it! The vegan slice was amazing, you would not think that it did not contain dairy! In terms of lunch and other options – they had a whole range of other choices, both vegan and non-vegan (both sweet treats and savory) including; panini’s (chorizo and smoked paprika mayo, brie and red onion, mozzarella and sundried tomato and finally, hummus with roasted peppers), cakes (both vegan and non vegan) and other toasted goods.
Personally, my favourite bit of The Steamie (apart from the coffee + cake, of course) was the atmosphere. It felt incredibly homely + calm – a lovely contrast from the bustle outside (which, let me tell you, it was a nightmare crossing the road!).
